Oak Flooring Enhances
Any Room

Oak does
not mark easily and will last for many decades if
looked after, producing the warm, rich colour so
characteristic of this popular hardwood.
Our
floors suit both modern and traditional homes.
Their character can be emphasised in a period
property or can enhance a more minimalist modern
interior.

Prime Oak Flooring
Our unfinished
flooring can be laid directly onto pre-laid
battens or joists, or straight onto existing
chipboard or pine flooring. You can glue the floor
to concrete provided you use a specialised glue.
Secret fixing is the most common method for laying
out floors with widths up to 160mm. Other methods
include screw and plugging or by nailing straight
through the face. The floors may only require a
light/spot sanding after installation and we can
recommend finishes to enhance your floor.
Moisture Content in Oak Flooring:
All boards are seasoned and then kiln dried to
between 8-10% moisture content which is suitable for
underfloor heating. Please discuss your heating
systems with us prior to order.
Storage of Oak Flooring:
All our flooring is delivered on pallets, and is
wrapped and banded in polythene and should, after
delivery, be stored in dry conditions until
required. Before laying our floors, it is advisable
to allow it to acclimatise for at least 10 days in
the environment that it is to be laid in.
Kiln
dried in computer controlled kilns, the oak flooring
is machined and hand finished in Germany, this oak
flooring will deliver everything in quality and
precision that you have come to expect from German
products.
The oak
displays beautiful colouring, quarter sawn figuring,
a few sound live knots and dark knots. All knots
and hairline cracks filled by hand and the boards
sanded with 120 grit paper to produce a fine smooth
finish. The oak flooring can be laid by secret
fixing, gluing to a sub-floor or by more traditional
methods.
All of
the oak boards are machined to a very high level of
accuracy, thus ensuring a no fuss, stress free
laying process, and the sanded finish of the boards
means you don't have to hire expensive industrial
sanders and suffer fine sanding dust over
everything. |
